Path Lighting.
Path lighting is
basically spread lighting but at a lower height. This
technique of lighting is ideal for illuminating pathways,
borders, steps, and driveways. In this type of lighting, a
high degree of light shielding is necessary to prevent glare. |

Spread Lighting.
Spread lighting
produces patterns of concentric circles of light downward for
illuminating flowerbeds, low shrubs, and ground cover. In
general, the size of the light spread area is determined by the
height, size, and lamp wattage of the lighting fixture used. |

Downlighting.
Down Lighting is often used to create several lighting
effects. By mounting the fixtures low on the trees, a
"path lighting" or "spread lighting" effect
will be achieved illuminating walkways or paths. Mounting
fixtures higher in the trees pointing downward can provide
general lighting for safety and security. |

Safety
Use lower wattage
lights positioned close to areas that could potentially cause
tripping or other safety hazards. Use overlapping pools of
light for beauty, safety, and to provide adequate lighting for
sure footing. |
