VBPRA - Pressure Regulating Brass Valve

Pressure Regulating Valve - Premier Series

Buckner’s pressure regulating brass valves have what it takes to maintain constant pressure, and accurately regulate it…all the time. Equalized, regulated water pressure can greatly enhance overall sprinkler performance.

Application

These pressure-regulating valves are ideal for commercial, agricultural and commercial irrigation systems that demand precise control over water pressure.

Features and Benefits:

  • Available in ¾”, 1”, 1¼”, 1½, 2”, 2½” and 3” sizes
  • Normally closed design allows valves to open only when electrically or manually activated.
  • Regulates downstream pressure in both manual (without external bleeding) and automatic operating modes.
  • Regulated outlet pressure may be set at between 10 and 100 psi. Inlet pressure must be at least 15 psi higher than the desired outlet.
  • No external tubing between valve and regulator eliminates possible damage to flow passages.
  • High strength molded Buna-N diaphragm reinvorced with mesh nylon has a 600 lb. burst test rating.
  • Schrader valve for taking pressure measurements.
  • All components are accessible with hex-head bolts on top of valve for easy maintenance.
  • Waterproof solenoid provides corrosion-free operation.
  • Normally closed reverse flow design.
  • Brass cross handle (except VBPRA07).
  • Optional British Standard Pipe Threaded version available (BS).
  • Five-year warranty.

Operating Ranges

US Metric
Flow: 1 – 500 gpm .22 – 113.55 m3/hr
Pressure: 25 – 150psi 1.7 – 10.54 bars
Valve: 0.9 – 2.0 sec. @
Speed: 50 – 100 psi

Valve Selection Procedure

  • Determine the total flow and pressure required to operate the irrigation equipment.
  • Add pipe friction losses to determine total downstream pressure required at the regulating valve.
  • Determine inlet pressure available.
  • Select valve from the chart so that the flow and regulation set point are approximately at the midpoint of the operating range shown.
  • Regulated outlet pressure may be set between 10 and 100 psi. Inlet pressure must be at least 15 psi higher than the desired outlet pressure.
